OUR MISSION
Frontline Readiness Project exists to protect the long-term health of first responders by providing free DEXA body composition scans that deliver critical health insights and help prevent heart-related illness, the leading cause of line-of-duty death among firefighters, police officers, and EMS personnel.
First responders face unique occupational stressors, including long shifts, high physical demands, disrupted sleep, and chronic stress. Despite the critical nature of their work, many firefighters, police officers, and EMS professionals lack access to advanced preventive health screening that can identify early risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
Traditional physicals and fitness tests often fail to detect underlying health risks related to body composition and fat distribution. Without clear, objective data, early warning signs are frequently missed until serious health events occur.
Frontline Readiness Project was created to address this gap by making advanced DEXA scanning accessible at no cost, empowering first responders with the information they need to make informed decisions about their health, fitness, and longevity.
We partner with departments, organizations, and community groups to deliver on-site or coordinated DEXA scan events for first responders. These scans provide detailed body composition insights, including:
Body fat distribution
Lean muscle mass
Bone density
Risk profiles that may correlate with elevated visceral fat levels
Overall health and wellness indicators
By presenting this data in a clear and actionable format, Frontline Readiness Project helps first responders identify potential health risks early and take proactive steps toward prevention and long-term wellbeing.
Frontline Readiness Project was founded to serve those who spend their careers protecting others.
The organization is led by individuals committed to improving first responder health through education, prevention, and access to meaningful health data.
Frontline Readiness Project currently serves first responders within MICHIGAN, with the goal of expanding access through partnerships and grant-funded programs at the regional, state, and national level.
Our commitment is simple:
To ensure that those who protect our communities have access to the health insights they deserve — because a healthier frontline means safer communities for everyone.
